Vintage Summary

The 2018 growing season started with the above average winter rainfall in most the Santa Cruz Mountains, with the Glenwood vineyard seeing 45 inches. Spring came slow, but warmed up quickly. After a few heat waves in early summer, conditions shifted to classic mild Santa Cruz Mountains in the fall. Cold nights and sunny warm days, slack winds. The grapes were harvested over three days between September 21st and 25th.

Winemaking

The grapes were picked by hand, sorted in the field. At the winery the grapes were destemmed into a redwood fermenter. Pumped over once daily, pressed after a 14 day fermentation. Elevage in old (10 years) barriques for 18 months. Racked to stainless a month before bottling. Unfined, unfiltered. Bottled February 25th, 2020. 195 cases produced.
