2023 Fiddlestix Vineyard Pinot Noir, Sta. Rita Hills, Santa Barbara County
The Fiddlestix Vineyard lies in the heart of the Sta. Rita Hills appellation in the western part of Santa Barbara County. First planted in 1997, and like many older farms in the Sta. Rita hills used to be in flower production, as it is a super mild climate only ten miles from the Pacific.
Winemaking
The grapes were picked on September 20, 2023 by hand and sorted in the field. At the winery the grapes were sorted, destemmed and sent to a redwood fermenter. Pumped over twice daily, pressed after a 10 day fermentation. Elevage in old barriques for 18 months. Racked to stainless a month before bottling. Unfined, unfiltered. Bottled April 5 2025. 50 cases produced.
